Good afternoon! Your help is necessary, we from Russia are going in May to Lapland on the car with a tent to have a rest outdoors whether allow to get your laws Gold to tourists from Russia, whether it is possible to enter to you association of gold mining? Thanks.

if you are coming to lapland in may, it could be quite hard to get yourself next to gold claims and creeks as there still will be most likely some snow on the ground. But we'll see how it goes in this spring, 2017 it was june when snow melted away enough.

Its in finnish, but this is the form how you can join in LKL. They will send you a reply with details of payment etc. Each of your group should join if they are going to dig some dirt.
Form goes like this: first name, surname, address, postal code, city/town, date of birth, phone number and e-mail.

By joining you can try gold mining in LKL's public claims without extra charge. Joining fee is 10€ and yearly fee of 25€ = 35€ for first year.

LKL is assosiation for both, professional and hobby miners.

Public claims are not richest what there is as you may know, but there is still decent gold on some claims. There is also "rental claims" or part of the claims available if you are keen to invest more money and maybe get little bit better gold.

After joining LKL we can live on site in a tent, build a fire, catch fish? And to use a metal detector?

Yes, you can build tent and use metal detector in claim. But for fishing you need permits. And for fire wood as well if you are using other than dead brushwood from the ground, there is no firewood ready for campfire in site (all the logs on site is for sauna).

Fishing and firewood permits you can get from Siula, Saariselkä. There is customer service from Metsähallitus and they are selling those permits and telling how to use them.

There are no pumps or anything basicly, maybe some sluice boxes and riffles might be there, but I would recommend that you take all needed equipment with you. Or then you have to rent a place if you want all to be setup for you.

To get a right to prospect gold at LKL's claims people have to be a member of assosiation. Areas are ment for our members use.

Elsewhere in Lappland there is no right to prospect gold without a permit (kullanhuuhdontalupa) that you can apply from Tukes.

Best way to try goldprospecting is to rent a right / Place from commercial service provider for example Gold Village of Tankavaara.
